Teledentistry

The Southeast Health District’s Teledentistry Program provides school-based screenings, preventative services, oral health education and other dental services for students who have limited access to dental care in rural Southeast Georgia. Services are uniquely provided via videoconferencing in order to offer services at the child’s school.  This enables the child to come to school ready to learn as they no longer experience dental pain, miss fewer days of school for dental treatment and find a dental home for future services.

Teledentistry services are available for elementary school-aged children in Charlton, Brantley and Clinch counties. If the child resides in the county but does not attend school where the clinic is located, transportation services will be provided by the participating school’s transportation department.

Under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Jon A. Drawdy, the Teledentistry Program works closely with the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University to provide the following dental services:

  • Oral Health Screenings
  • Dental X-Rays
  • Teeth Cleaning
  • Oral Home Care Education
  • Oral Hygiene Kit
  • Fluoride and Sealant Application
  • Record Review with Treatment Plan
  • Referral for Follow-up Services
  • Case Management

For further information, please contact the Office of Oral Health at (912) 287-4893.
