Occupational Therapist (Full-time or Part-Time)



Position Title: Occupational Therapist 1, 2, or 3 (Full-time or Part-Time)

Paygrade: L, M, N or Hourly

Location: Negotiable within District

Description of Duties: Under general supervision, the Occupational Therapist evaluates and assesses infants and toddlers in the Babies Can’t Wait program across multiple counties within the Southeast Health District. The therapist provides occupational therapy services to enhance the child’s independent functioning in daily activities, focusing on improving mobility, fine motor skills, sensory processing, and overall participation in meaningful tasks. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the therapist coaches staff and family members on strategies to support child development within home and community settings, adapts materials, and modifies environments to improve engagement. Additional responsibilities include maintaining progress documentation in compliance with Medicaid guidelines, participating in research initiatives, and coordinating care for families.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate or professional degree in physical therapy AND current or eligible for Georgia licensure in area of assignment.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in early intervention programs with infants and toddlers and expertise in pediatric occupational therapy, including fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive equipment. Strong skills in multidisciplinary collaboration, coaching families, adapting environments, and using clinical assessment tools are essential, along with proficiency in Medicaid-compliant documentation and excellent communication abilities. Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish, is a plus for serving diverse populations.
