Position Title: Speech Pathologist 1, 2, or 3 (Full-time or Part-Time)
Paygrade: L, M, N or Hourly
Location: Negotiable within District
Description of Duties: Under general supervision, the Speech-Language Pathologist assesses and treats individuals with hearing, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Specializing in evaluations for children aged 0-3, this role determines eligibility for the Babies Can’t Wait program. Responsibilities include fitting hearing aids, providing auditory training, and selecting and teaching the use of alternative communication systems. Additionally, the Speech-Language Pathologist prepares comprehensive reports, develops individualized care plans, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) that address each child’s specific needs.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate or Master’s degree in speech-language pathology or audiology, or both, from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia licensure and/or certification to practice in the area of assignment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in early intervention programs, particularly with children aged 0-3, and expertise in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. A background of working with children facing feeding issues and autism. Proficiency with clinical assessment tools, a family-centered approach to care, and strong communication and documentation skills are essential. Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish, is a plus to better serve diverse populations.
