Position Title: County Nurse Manager (Ware)
Paygrade: N, O
Location: Ware County Health Department
Description of Duties: Under limited supervision, develops and manages day-to-day operations of a population-based program of Nursing and other clinical services in a County Public Health Department. Provides overall management and administrative guidance for specifically assigned programs, assesses educational and programmatic needs; develops policies; collaborates with other health care providers in the provision of services to target populations. Develops clinic schedules and supervise staff; work with county and city governments; Emergency Preparedness. Duties include work of considerable difficulty requiring independent professional judgment, experience, and skills. Collection of COVID-19 specimens from individuals presenting for COVID-19 test. This may include the use of the following specimen collection types: oropharyngeal swab, nasal mid-turbinate swab, anterior nares swab, nasopharyngeal wash/aspirate, saliva collection, and nasal aspirate. This would also include any additional appropriate specimen collection types and/or vaccinations for diseases related to a declared public health emergency. Also manages the IMPACT center.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire and current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level PH Registered Nurse Spv (HCP193) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing or master’s degree in nursing, Public Administration, Public Health, or a closely related field.
